Alright, so apparently its been about a year since I posted (honest truth I forgot about the blog altogether). Anyways, huge things have changed. Now, lets skip through them quickly:

-dropped out of school
-moved back home
-jumped from job to job
-trying to get back in school

Alright, tired from work, going to chillax now.

But those are not the only options available, there are many different types of body modification out there. Some can be found in most tattoo parlours, while others are more tribal/cultural. These body modifications are not a new thing, they have been around for many, many years.

Back in the Elizabethan era high foreheads were thought to be a sign of great beauty, so women would often shave or pluck their hair as to give the illusion of having a higher forehead. Belladonna berry juice, also known as the ‘deadly nightshade’, was used to dilate women’s pupils in order to give them a doe like innocence. Unfortunately with the belladonna they risked glaucoma, retinal damage, and blindness. Popular this year was pale makeup and bright red lips, but this again was from the Elizabethan era. Corsets were used to give women miniscule waists, this was done by squeezing their ribs and internal organs. Often women were so bound that they were short of breath.

Nowadays, if women like the look of how corsets were laced up, they have the option of a group of piercings that can be laced together.

In China it was popular for many years for young girls to have their feet bound. A foot that was 3 inches long was considered the perfect foot. The feet were often crippled, with bones broken and deformed.

Today there are those out there who are into body mods. There are implants you can get under the skin, different piercings, tattoos, scarification, and cutting. Such cutting can be that of tongue forking, or the reshaping of ears to give the tips a point.

There I said it, no one else need reiterate, as I have just confessed.

On my way back out to my car to get some bread so that I could eat, I forget to bring my key for getting back into my dorm. And my dorm mates aren’t home as of yet…so all in all….I was screwed.

Sooooo, I went to the security office with one of my friends to get a spare key in order to get in. When we got there one of the first things I noticed was that the guy in the office was HOT! Now, I guess I was massively distracted by that, because at first I didn’t notice one extremely hilarious point. While I was filling out the paperwork the guy was singing along with the soundtrack to….Disney’s “Little Mermaid”! Now…this guy was not mantally handicapped….so my next guess is that he was a homosexical. Now, my friend and I, while walking away, started snickering, and then started giggling like little girls.

Now, you tell me, what is your take? Gay? Or freaky?

So for easter I went home and seen my family. We had a nice easter supper…at 3:30 pm. And as we were sitting around the table eating rabbit stew (just joking people, don’t set PETA on me), and I watched everyone eating I remembered the pictures of my family we had taken last year. Now, I will digitally alter them a tiny bit so that my anonymity remains intact.

First off is my mom and dad, Im sure you can tell which is which.

Well…now that everyone has met my parents I think its time to introduce my brother. When I took this picture he was jamming out to some rap on his iPod, afterwords he called me a honkey and said I was jealous of his blackitude.

A group of kids were out joy riding in a pickup, even though its illegal for people to sit in the bed they were having fun. Something happened, like they took a corner too fast or something and someone fell out onto a guys lawn. The others giggled as the one who fell clambered back up into the pick up bed. Well, turns out the guy who lived there didn’t take too kindly to ‘trespassers’, and must have shot into the group. One of the members was supposed to have cried out in pain, and the others found that she had took a bullet to the chest. Now, the girl was 14/16, and she did not survive from the shot. The owner of the yard was charged but got off due to lack of evidence or some such nonsense.

After looking around the internet I found a website that spoke of how he had been charged with other offences, not including this one. It also gave clearer insight as to what happened. Now, it will be edited for anonymity, and I am sorry, but I will not give the website, as I cannot edit it for anonymity.

Now the creepiest part of finding out about this is that I was the only person working as a counterperson at the time, and he was one of the few customers in there at the time. But me being me (come on, I found a dead body before), I continued on with my work as if I had learned nothing. I mean, there was nothing I could do anyhow, so why get worked up about it?

The great thing about work last night was that I made about $10 in tips, compared to the usual $2.50, I was happy.
Well…it might be a little bit before I can update the blog again, as tonight afterwork I am driving home to see my parents and will be there until Monday.

Now, back to the art, when I talk about art I’m not talking about picasso-esque work, or work that is supposedly an ‘expression’ of how the artist is feeling or a commentary, etc. I am more into artwork that you can tell what it is by looking at it. Medium is also a major part of artistic talent, pencil, pen, charcoal, all that is great. But when someone strays from the ‘norm’ and decides to get their creative juices flowing using some other form of expresive material, THAT is amazing art!

I haven’t been to many art shows, exibits, or musems, but I know what I like when I see it. And an artist I have come across, whos work I truly admire is that of Phil Hanson. Phil has his own website where you can visit him (http://philinthecircle.com/), along with a YouTube account (http://www.youtube.com/user/Philinthecircle).

The most amazing part of this is that it is all done with his feet. I am amazed by the art, but I can’t help thinking that he must have gotten really bad leg cramps, and wondering what type of paint he was using, tempera?

As most everyone knows the definition of an athiest is someone who does not believe in anything. Dictionary. com states it as:

My summation of the above is that when you die, you are eaten by bugs, shat out, and become a form of fertilizer. Kind of depressing, but whatev. Now I believe that religion is that although they may differ, a religion is a gathering of people who gather to revel and rejoice in a shared belief.
Well…at the University of Alberta Ian Bushfield, an engineering student, started a ‘club’ he has called Athiests and Agnostics. Besides the fact that AAA has a certain similarity to KKK, I find it odd that they would gather to share in their ‘non-belief’…technically I think their gathering is its own religion of sorts. After all they are a gathering of people who share in a ‘non-belief’.
